INTERNATIONAL FINE WINES

“... by far the best wine magazine in the world.”
Tim Atkin MW

“... the first cultural journal of the wine world.”
Hugh Johnson OBE

“... you just cannot put it down.”
Gerard Basset MS MW

“... be reminded why you care [about wine] in the first place.”
Terry Thiese

In our opinion—and in that of many others—The World of Fine Wine is the most thorough and intellectually stimulating wine publication in the world today. We are therefore delighted that Ex Vinum has been appointed as the publication’s official distributor in Australia.

Neil Beckett, the Magazine’s long-standing Editor, has said, “Through the incredible community behind Bibendum, we’re hoping to support our audience in Australia with easier and earlier access to each issue of The World of Fine Wine. We’ve found a true partner in Ex Vinum and Bibendum—they understand our audience, and they understand our philosophy, and we’re thrilled to be working together.”

Original, thought-provoking, absorbing and impeccably detailed, The World of Fine Wine has set a new standard for wine publications. Along the way it has won many awards including Best Wine Magazine in the World [Gourmand International] and International Wine Publication of the Year [Louis Roederer Award] on multiple occasions.

First published in 2004 and now in its 77th Edition, each beautiful issue is lavishly illustrated, and so rich that it resembles a book more than a magazine. It’s not the cheapest wine journal on the market, but when you hold a copy in your hands, you’ll understand why.

The star-studded list of writing contributors includes established names such as Hugh Johnson, Andrew Jefford, Raymond Blake, Michel Bettane, David Schildknecht and Michael Edwards (and many more), and the magazine also supports a wealth of far-flung, less conventional talent like merchants Terry Theise and our own Rob Walters, plus regular contributions from Australians Nick Ryan and Ken Gargett. The journals also feature content from writers outside the wine industry, which is one of the things that make them so distinctive.

Despite its scholarly approach, The World of Fine Wine never strays towards the ponderous navel-gazing of many wine publications. Neither is it swayed by fads, trends or any individual palate. Terry Theise sums it up thus: “When your brain grows numb reading endless tasting notes and point-scores from writers determined to tell you precisely what to buy, it’s more than refreshing to open a copy of The World of Fine Wine and be reminded why you care in the first place.” We could not agree more.
